When Michael Wloch (43) was 7 years old, growing up in Communist Poland, he had a collection of VHS tapes with pirated American movies. His copies of Convoy, Smokey and the Bandit and Over the Top were worn out so bad they became black and white! He also had a neighbor who would pull up and park his big Volvo cabover once every four weeks when he came back from running long haul around Europe. Michael loved to run over and talk to the man and get behind the wheel. Then, around 1990, came that horrible day, a real nasty moment – he says: “I would go to the little bookstore on the corner like always to grab that Trucks monthly magazine, and open it up to look at the centerfold, and my world collapsed at that very moment.” There was a picture of an early Kenworth T2000 prototype, and the caption stated that it was the future of trucking. Apparently, trucks were going to lose their external air cleaners, along with their big square hoods and pipes! He remembers dropping that magazine back on the counter with anger and running out of the store. Well, he kept on running, chasing his trucking dream for the next 30 years, to finally get where he is today here in the United States. This yellow W900 is exactly IT – the dream – right there. He got it made. He saved it. Michael believes in America and loves her and wants everyone to get here, because where there is freedom there is hope. This is also why he always spends his money at small shops and businesses, to help keep the dream alive for everyone – like Arroyo Custom Rigs in Merced, CA, where Michael just got his dream Kdub slammed.
