“Being a true truck driver is the greatest adventure ever! Rolling down the boulevard in a classy ride is all the better. These large companies and drivers have forgotten what this industry stands for – freedom, adventure and money. 20+ years ago you didn’t see the trash in and out of the trucks you do today and it’s really sad that so much of this industry these days is just that – trash! If this industry is going to go on and be profitable, the first thing we need to do is get industry veterans in control of the laws and regulations. We can’t keep going on with high school teachers and city planners running the industry. This is the most crucial part. Next, if we are going to be regulated, then the brokers need to be, as well. We can’t be running around on the boards, hauling the same load, from the same shipper, going to the same customer, for $.50 to $1.00 less per mile than the last guy. Survival is different for everyone. I survive by working for a great family company (TraLo Companies Inc.) that treats me like one of theirs. Respect the industry and it’ll respect you back. But, 3 million miles later, I still love it every day!” ~ Zack Reed / Lake City, MN
