The 2012 Wilkins Busted Knuckle Truck Show kicked off on Friday September 21, 2012, and ran through Sunday the 23rd. This was officially the 2nd annual Customer Appreciation Day for Wilkins Oklahoma Truck Supply. The weekend was a way to say “thank you” to customers for 26 years of continued support. The trucks were not judged, there was no competition, and there was no pressure. It was simply a time for friends, old and new, to gather and have fun. It was a time to admire the trucks on display, to relax and have a great time. The weather could not have been more perfect for the event. With over 80 trucks in attendance, Friday night we literally lit up the night when every truck turned on their lights and began honking their horns. It was truly something to see and experience – one driver said, “This is what a truck stop used to look like.” Saturday was the main event. There was food to enjoy throughout the day from M&S Concessions (the corn-on-the-cob was the best). Monty Spears of Spears Photos was on hand taking professional pictures of each truck and capturing moments throughout the day. There was a drawing for all attendees, allowing each a chance to win some really cool items that were graciously donated by our wonderful vendors. After dinner, Chad Smith and his band performed while people danced, swapped stories and had a really good time. Sunday was the day it all ended. The cool weather started moving in making the coffee and donuts just what everyone needed. People hugged, said their goodbyes, and promised to see each other again next year or down the road somewhere. It was a little sad to watch the trucks fade away. It was truly a weekend that real friendships were made. We at Wilkins Oklahoma Truck Supply want to thank all the attendees, vendors and volunteers for making this an unforgettable weekend. We missed our friends and customers that could not attend, and are already looking forward to the 2013 Busted Knuckle Truck Show.
