 JAMESON'S LUMBER HAULERS

In this 1956 photo, we see Don Stanfield’s 1950 Kenworth, loaded with lumber from northern California to be delivered to a Los Angeles lumber facility. The dark blue and white rig is seen here with the Jameson Lumber Company on the doors, however this was a reflection of a name change. Prior to the Jameson name, this truck sported the name Keesey Lumber. This rig was one of several lumber-hauling trucks that were leased to Chuck Keesey. The Keesey fleet of dark blue and white rigs were a common sight, running lumber from northern California to points south. The fleet consisted of mostly KWs, but there was a 1952 Peterbilt cab-over, as well as a 1951 White Freightliner that was leased to the Keesey fleet. Home base for these trucks was Trucker’s Paradise, a favorite “watering hole” for many truckers that resided on the east side of Los Angeles. Trucker’s Paradise remained in operation until the mid 1960s, when it finally closed its doors. I don’t know what happened to these lumber trucks, but if someone would like to enlighten me call 1-888-440-4104. Thanks!
