Words of Wisdom from SharLeigh
YOUR VOTE IS YOUR VOICE!
Are you registered to vote or do you just express your views to everyone but when the time comes to vote you do not bother? Voting is our voice and our privilege as citizens of these United States. This upcoming election has some very important issues such as global warming, alternative energy, the Iraq war, the economy and healthcare. These issues will not only affect this generation of Americans but future ones as well. Now is the time for us to choose a strong leader – a leader that will be able to take us through troubled waters. We have to act now and take the time to study all of these issues. Check out each of the Senators’ Congressional voting records. Do not just listen to the “stump” speeches or news commentator’s evaluation of what the candidates are saying. Take the time to check out the candidate’s stand on each and every issue. In this day and age of rapid communications there is no excuse. As voters, we must be fully informed before we step into that voting booth. Why? We are choosing a leader that may (and should) guide this country out of a threatening economic depression. Everyone knows how vital this is to the United States’ survival. So get out and vote this November. For those of you not yet registered to vote, here is a list of the voter registration deadlines for the 2008 Presidential Election for the western states: AZ, CO, TX, UT and WA – October 6; NM – October 7; NV and OR – October 14; CA – October 20; ID, MT and WY – you can register right at the polls. America needs your vote – so get out and do it!
