Words of Wisdom from SharLeighTHE PERFECT GIFT THIS CHRISTMASTis the season for holiday cheer! As you enter the stores, it is like a winter wonderland the carols are blasting through the speakers, lights are twinkling from every aisle and there are Christmas displays wherever you look. Shoppers have a crazed look on their face and children can be heard screaming, I want this! at the top of their lungs. Take a few steps back and detach yourself from the scene do you ever wonder where it all went wrong? This manic behavior that infects most people is truly a sad travesty of the true meaning of Christmas. Instead of being busy trying to figure out what you are going to get Aunt Audrey, stop and wonder what you are going to give of yourself this season. The first Christmas had nothing to do with Santa Claus or Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. It took place in a crude manger that was more like a cave. There were no twinkling Christmas trees only the bright star of Bethlehem to light the way. Carolers did not stand outside of the manger to announce the Christ childs birth but the angels on high sang out and announced the glorious event. It was the humble sheepherders that saw the light and heard the announcement. They silently came down from the hills in wonder as they approached the manger. They realized that this baby was something very special a wonder of love! The Magi three wise men (kings) from afar brought gifts to the Christ child. These were gifts for a great King! One who was to bring love to the world. Deep inside each of us is that love. We do not need to buy for the world, but we do need to share our love. We get so busy with all the hustle and bustle of the season that we truly forget what it is all about. Aunt Audrey does not need to be handed a present from the delivery man, but she does need to see you! This year, take time to give of yourself and your love! After all, love is the most precious gift we can give (or get). Merry Christmas! Copyright
