Turn Those Headlights On
This e-mail is currently working its way around this nation and the world. I ask that 10-4 Magazine and its readers join in remembrance of September 11, 2001.
Please participate in a 9-11 tribute and help us get the word out across this great land we love and call the United States of America. On Wednesday, September 11, 2002 everyone in the USA is asked to drive with their headlights on during daylight hours. Though no explanation is needed as to why we are commemorating September 11, we hope more importantly to pay respect to the victims of that horrendous day, show our nation’s solidarity and show our unwavering support for the men and women serving in the Armed Forces.
The terrorists were so busy trying to grind this nation to a halt that they forgot some very important facts about us (Americans). Maybe they should have read what these two great Americans had to say about our country and its strength.
“That this nation, under God, and that Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” - Abraham Lincoln.
“Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and success of liberty.” - John F. Kennedy
The hauntingly beautiful image on the right was taken in July of 2001. Be sure to turn on your headlights on 9-11 and show the country (and the world) that you will never forget.
