Learning To Live In The Moment Where are we going in this fast-paced world? Do you find that there are days when you feel disjointed from the world-at-large? Do you feel like everyone is rushing around and not making any headway? Are there days when you just wished you had thrown the covers over your head and slept the day away? Do you feel that life is passing you by? That there is little joy? If so, welcome to the real world. The population is rapidly increasing yet we feel more isolated then ever before. One of the problems is the popular ad campaigns marketing love and couples. Everywhere you turn you see and hear ads, poetry, stories and songs about loving couples.
It seems that the world is filled with loving couples, yet that is not really true. There are many single people and single parents just struggling to make ends meet! It is not an easy world for the single person, yet many turn a blind eye to the harsh reality of life. Because of this misconception, some people think they are outcasts and do not fit into a “normal” life! It’s sad when a person feels they are useless because they do not have a significant other in their life, but this is the case for more people than you might think.
Life is so much more then a love fantasy. Life is living each moment as it comes, enjoying all that is around you,
but most importantly reaching out to other human beings. Sometimes a smile or a “good day” brings joy to another
person because it may be the only exchange of conversation they have that day! Does that sound sad? Well, it is
the truth for so many people. A simple smile or a kind gesture goes a long way - sometimes we do not even realize
the affect that we can have on the lives of others. Follow your heart and reach out to others.
Many of us are afraid to reach out to others for fear of rejection. More times than not you will not be rejected.
Living in the moment means enjoying what is around you and the people you meet. We do not need expensive cars,
houses or toys to feel important because that is just stuff and stuff never amounted to much. Many of life’s most precious
gifts are free if we only take the time to appreciate them. For what is wealth but life itself! - SharLeigh |
