Cory Cloward’s Passion Pays Off This month’s Readers And Their Rigs comes to us from Cory Cloward of Double C Commodities in Oakdale, California. At only 26 years old, Cory is the proud owner of this beautiful red Pete that recently beat out the competition at the truck show in Lodi - despite the fact that the truck was wrecked just three weeks before the show. He was on his way to pick up his first load of the day when he came around a blind corner and hit an 1,100 lb. Angus cow. The crash took out his bumper and left fender, warped the hood, bent the front wheel and crushed the driver’s side stack. Cory was lucky to escape without injury but devastated at the fact that he would not be able to make it to Cherokee’s annual show. He took the truck to Bill Rocha’s shop, expecting him to say it would be weeks before he could even start, but, to his surprise, Bill said, “Order the parts so we can get this thing back together.” They not only got it back together, but also added ghost flames to the hood and fenders! With the truck good as new (or better), Cory was able to make it to show and win 1st Place. The truck, which pulls a Western belt trailer and hauls feed up and down California’s Central Valley, is covered with LED lights, has a 12” drop visor, 8” stacks and an 18” American Eagle bumper. The interior features Bostrom Low Rider seats, lots of Rockwood accessories and a booming stereo. Cory wanted to thank Bill Rocha, his brother Troy, Curly Reynolds and Mike Costa for all their help, but mostly his wife for her love and understanding when it comes to his passion for trucks. We’d like to thank Cory for being such a devoted reader and congratulate him on a job well-done! |
