Elevating The Company’s Image This month’s Readers And Their Rigs comes to us from John G. Csernay, Lead Driver for the Los Angeles office of National Mobile Television (NMT) in Torrance, CA. After reading our June 2003 Cover Feature about Tom Opliger and Game Creek Video, John was inspired to write us a letter. Similar to Game Creek Video but on a grander scale, NMT is the largest provider of mobile production units and crews across the North American continent and northwestern Europe, covering events like the World Series, Olympics, The Masters, Stanley Cup, NBA playoffs, Grammy’s and Academy Awards, along with the regular season sporting and entertainment events. Recently, at the persistence and hard work of NMT’s Transportation Manager Bob Demonte, their fleet of trucks has been upgraded to improve the image of the company and elevate NMT’s status to a new level of excellence. The finest example of this is Paul Mercado’s show-worthy ride. This top-of-the-line Pete 379 (pictured at left) features a 550 HP C-15 Cat engine, an 18-speed transmission, Pete low air-leaf suspension, American Class interior, Alpine stereo/CD player, and all the gauges (20) you could imagine. Painted white with IMRON 6000 blue paint on the fenders and frame, Paul has added extra lights, chrome accessories, and lowered the front end two inches. Entering the truck in a few shows already, Paul has earned many awards, including a 1st Place in his class at the 2002 International Trucking Show in Las Vegas and the title of Best Professional Show Truck at the 2003 Drags in Palmdale back in September. John is proud of what Bob and Paul have done, and looks forward to building more show-worthy rigs - maybe even one for himself. We’d like to thank John for being a loyal reader of 10-4 and for writing us such a great letter. |
