The Kenworth From Canfield Revisited Some of you might remember the “Kenworth From Canfield” that was featured on our May 1995 cover. Back then, Earl Evans of Canfield, Ohio, was showing off his red 1991 KW and 1987 Ravens Magnum trailer. Today, Earl is excited about his latest creation: a 2000 Kenworth W900L featuring a 72” AeroCab, a 3406E Cat engine, 18-speed Eaton transmission, Dana 3:08 rears (8 wheel lock up), 280” wheelbase, plenty of chrome and stainless, a Pro-Tech cab guard and chain box, aluminum wheels and hubs with centrifuse drums, LED lights, and a custom interior featuring a full gauge and switch package done by Truck Interiors. Behind the red tractor with maroon fenders, Earl pulls a sharp 48-foot 1998 Ravens Eclipse flatbed with a Hendrickson 250 Intra Suspension, 10’ 2” spread, four boxes by Highway Products, sliding winch track, 37 pairs of tie-downs, all LED lights and a lightweight side kit. Earl’s company, M.E. Evans Trucking, specializes in hauling general flatbed freight throughout the 48 states and Canada. Earl (45), who has been driving for over 27 years - the last 22 as an owner operator, believes in the sanctity of trucking. The popular phrase and logo stating, “Without Trucks America Stops” can be found not only on his business card but also his company letterhead. Anyone who’s been around trucking as long as Earl knows that statement is true. Obviously he takes a lot of pride in what he does - that is reflected in the quality of his equipment. Famous for his scenic photographs, Earl once again sent us several terrific shots of his truck and trailer, as he did some seven years ago. Thanks for thinking of us (again) Earl and congratulations on your newest “Kenworth From Canfield”. |
