Radio Marathon Kicks Off Safety Tour

Ol’ Blue, USA, along with officials from law enforcement, will be in the studios of WBAB Radio the fourth week of March.  They will be heard on the Midnight Trucking Radio Network and XM’s Satellite Radio, channel 171, based in Arlington, Texas, and on Sirius Satellite Radio’s Loading Dock, broadcasting from its New York studios, doing 10 hours “live” of Ol’ Blue, USA’s “Ask The Law” radio program, from March 25 through March 26.  The purpose of the “Ask the Law” program is to have truckers call in and pose questions relating to safety and legal issues for commercial vehicles.  Joining Ol’ Blue, USA’s founder, RJ Taylor, will be Sr. Trooper Monty Dial with the Texas Highway Patrol.  To participate in Ol’ Blue, USA’s “Ask The Law” program on the Midnight Trucking Radio Network, call (800) 288-9227.  To reach the program on the Loading Dock, the number to call is (888) 876-2336.  Scheduled show times are Tuesday, March 25, midnight to 5 a.m. Central Time on XM 171, and Wednesday, March 26, 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. Central Time on Sirius – for a total of 10 hours.  For more information about the radio programs, visit www.SafetyTour.org.  In addition to the radio marathon, Ol’ Blue, USA’s “Safety Center” (featuring the 1951 Kenworth pictured here) will be at the Great West Truck Show in Las Vegas, Nevada this June 26 through the 28th.  Drivers and fleet representatives are encouraged to stop by and meet with the law enforcement officers who participate in the “Ask The Law” programs.  Simulated roadside vehicle and other safety inspections – conducted with the help of state law enforcement officers – will be conducted at the “Safety Center” as well as presentations on hours-of-service, logbooks and proper pre- and post-trip inspections.  Those who are unable to attend the show may still take part in the action by visiting Ol’ Blue, USA’s web cam from the show floor.  This coverage can be found during (and after) the show at www.olblueusa.org/video.  10-4 Magazine is a proud supporter of Ol’ Blue, USA and we urge you to take advantage of the valuable training and information this organization has provided to truckers for over twenty years.
