SPECIAL DRIVER HAULS SPECIAL LOAD
Company Driver of the Year Announced

Last month we had Western Distributing Transportation Corp. (WDTC) out of Denver, CO pickup our magazines and other items in Southern California and deliver them to the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky. Our buddy Dino over there at WDTC always takes real good care of us. And this year was no different. Not only did he get our stuff to the show in a timely manner without any problems, but we later found out that he sent the top driver in the nation to handle our delivery. Veteran trucker Brian O’Leary was just named Company Driver of the Year for 2004 by the Truckload Carrier’s Association (TCA) and, coincidentally, is the Western driver who took our load to Kentucky. Now that’s what we call service! Brian has been driving for over 30 years and has racked up 3.5 million miles without ever having an accident, getting a ticket or an hours of service violation. Brian’s father drove for 40 years, and after cancer took his life in 1973, Brian was hired to replace him. When Brian was hired by Western 20 years ago, he was one of only seven drivers for the company. Today, he’s part of Western’s 200+ truck fleet, hauling produce, meat, beer and other refrigerated loads (and on occasion, 10-4 Magazines, T-shirts and posters). For being selected as TCA’s Company Driver of the Year, Brian received about $10,000 in cash and prizes from various companies and trucking organizations. Not bad for just doing his job. “I was taught to present myself and the company as a sharp example of the trucking industry. Clean truck, clean driver, clean speech and clean driving,” said Brian. Obviously he’s taken that teaching to heart. We’d like to congratulate Brian O’Leary and thank him for taking such good care of our stuff. The people at the show ate it all up.
