After the 310-inch long rolling chassis was built, it was delivered to Payson Diesel in Payson, Utah where it was fitted with a Cat Acert C-15 converted back to a single turbo with a C-18 cam. Making 630 hp and putting 2,300 lb. ft. torque to the ground through an 18-speed tranny and 2:64 rears, Chris can run the transmission in direct (16th gear) to keep 1,320 rpm at 60 mph when grossing 80k lbs. and get 6.47 mpg on his runs between California and Illinois, even when crossing the Rockies. When doing his local LTL loads around Wisconsin, he can get 6.8 mpg, which proves you don’t have to drive an aero truck to get good mileage. For Chris, image is important. “When I drop freight, I’m not only representing myself but those who I’m hauling for, as well. I always look professional when I’m delivering or picking up, wearing my logo button-down work shirt, jeans and work boots. Flip-flops, tank tops and shorts are what you wear at the pool, and track suits are for the gym. If the customer sees me and my truck looking like we’re there to work and take 
care of their product, they might call me instead of someone else who might be a little cheaper. I’m always polite when dealing with customers, even when they push me, but I realize they have to deal with the other kind of drivers, too, so I try to be patient.” When asked why he chose this truck instead of an aero truck, Chris said, “I don’t mind giving up some money every round to be able to look forward to going to work.” Well said, my friend, well said!
