The fourth and final stop of our 2015 “Western Swing” (four truck shows in a row, all held in the west) brought us to Fresno, California for the 6th Annual Central Valley Commercial Truck Show (CVCTS), held on Labor Day Weekend, September 5-6, at the Fresno County Fairgrounds. After a good run at the Clovis Rodeo Grounds, the event was moved to this new location to accommodate the growth of the show and get away from all that dust (much of the lot in Clovis was dirt). This location proved to be a great place, with plenty of room – and all of it was paved!

Hosted by A & L Truck Supply, this charity show is held as a benefit for the Clovis Lions Club and Fresno Club 435, both non-profit organizations. Showcasing live entertainment, carnival-style food, a kid’s area, various trucking-related vendors and a judged truck beauty contest with well over 100 trucks, competing in numerous classes (including a great light show on Saturday night), the CVCTS had a lot to offer during the fun two-day event. And, with warm temps outside (not scorching hot like in past years), it was perfect weather for a truck show.

The Clovis Lions Club is a non-profit organization with all of its proceeds going directly back into the community. Fresno Club 435 is a charitable organization of local California Highway Patrol uniformed and non-uniformed personnel, and their families. Fresno Club 435 holds numerous yearly events benefiting charities, public safety agencies, and others in need of assistance. This year, just under $10,000 was raised at the show, which was divided equally between these two great organizations.

The A & L crew, which includes Liliana, Juan, Lilia, Rene, James and many others, did a great job hosting the show, which went off without a hitch. They also worked hard to collect over $10,000 in raffle prizes from companies like Dynaflex Products, Valley Chrome Plating, Trux Accessories, Freight Lockers, United Pacific, Hogebuilt, Grand General and Rig Matters. Each participant of the show was given one free raffle ticket, and with as many prizes as they had, the odds of getting something were pretty good. These prizes were given away at the end of the show, just before the trophies were handed out – and it was some great stuff!

We hope this show continues to grow because it benefits great organizations – and, it’s held right in our own backyard, so that is always nice. Thanks to everyone who came by our booth and hung out. It is always nice to catch-up with everyone. We hope to see you all, and many more, next year at the 7th Annual Central Valley Commercial Truck Show! Stay tuned to 10-4 Magazine for dates and more information. Our congratulations go out to all of the 2015 winners.
