Tony Youngblood of Augusta, GA is nicknamed “Mr. Bighorn” – and not only for the 1975 Dodge Bighorn CNT Custom Cab shown here! Tony has owned more Bighorns than anyone else we know of, and has probably had the chance to sit in and drive more of these trucks than anyone else out there. He has also reproduced rare, new parts for the precious few Bighorns that still exist (even Chrysler has come to him for new doors and a cab for the short nose Bighorn that they are in the process of restoring). Needless to say, Tony is a Bighorn aficionado. In 1989, Tony bought his first Bighorn – the 1975 Custom Cab you see here. It was a seven-year restoration job that started from the ground up, with everything on the truck either new or rebuilt, all the way down to the grease fittings and tags on the Rockwell axles. The truck made its first show debut at an event in 1997. In addition to owning eleven antique Dodge trucks, Tony also has a large collection of Bighorn ram’s-head hood ornaments, along with all the literature, posters, watch fobs and belt buckles he could find. Four photo albums are filled with nearly 800 pictures, and of the 261 Bighorns produced, he has pictures of at least 130 of the original trucks. Of an estimated 108 Bighorns left in existence, most of which reside with collectors, Tony has personally bought and sold a total of 17. We’d have to say that Tony’s nickname of “Mr. Bighorn” is definitely well-deserved and fitting!
