This 1977 Kenworth W900A is still a working truck – at least for two or three days a month. Nelson Brown, of Chalfont, PA still uses his classic narrow-hood Kenworth to move backhoes and bulldozers for his excavating company, Inroad. The truck was originally sold new by Chester Kenworth of Chester, PA to a trucker in Limerick, PA who used it to pull a fuel tanker. For thirteen years the Kenworth worked hard hauling fuel, but racked up only 127,000 miles on the odometer. When Nelson bought the truck in 1990, the W900A continued its working career as a short-haul truck, moving excavating equipment around to various worksites, while adding less than 3,000 miles per year to its total mileage. The clean Kenworth, which sits on a 165-inch wheelbase, has a day cab and is equipped with a Cummins NTC 290 engine backed by a 9-speed RT9509A transmission. In 2003, the truck got a fresh new paint job. After he and his treasure return home from truck shows, Nelson continues to work the classic Kenworth two or three days per month. Today, the truck still has fewer than 200,000 miles on it.
