Winston H. Wilkinson III of Alexandria, Virginia bought this 1977 Kenworth W900A in 2004 from a fellow in Atlantic, Virginia. The truck spent most of its working life running produce, but Winston retired it when he bought it and began restoring the truck – he finished in 2006. The Kenworth is powered by a 400 Cummins Big Cam II with a 13-speed transmission, has a Kenworth double bunk sleeper, and is equipped with Peterbilt air-ride suspension. A 1987 Great Dane reefer trailer, purchased in 2009, completes the combination. Because Winston’s favorite movie is “Smokey and the Bandit,” he decided to restore the tractor-trailer as a tribute to it. A group of Trans-Am owners, one of whom is a graphic artist, did the artwork on the trailer. The truck is also a tribute to Jerry Reed, who played “Snowman” in the movie. Along with Charlie Daniels and others, Jerry was a strong supporter and fund-raiser for The Wounded Warrior Project. The trailer’s interior displays artwork and photos in honor of the armed forces, along with a dummy load of Coors that folds out of the way when transporting.

i’m glad to see someone restore the truck and trailer there was a produce hauler from california who used to do his rigs like that yrs later smokey and the bandit came out and it’s great to see it being brought back to life it was quite unique then and still is today nice job
Was curious if there are any more pictures of your truck.? Reason asking is that I am going to be doing a stained glass piece of this truck for my husband that loves it. I would greatly appreciate a couple of extra pictures
