APRIL 2007 OLD TIME TRUCKS
CLASSIC KW & MOBILE HISTORICAL DISPLAY
By Photographer & Old Truck Nut John Sponholtz

This beautiful blue 1975 Kenworth belongs to George and Marie Schroyer of Celina, Ohio. The truck is an extended hood model equipped with an Aerodyne sleeper and powered by a 400 Cummins engine with a 13-speed transmission. It is pulling a 1970 Great Dane trailer that houses George and Marie’s historical display of photos and trucking memorabilia, a popular feature at antique truck shows. Painted on the sides of the trailer are more of George’s trucks. On the driver’s side are a Silver Fleet Produce truck and the 1975 Kenworth. On the passenger’s side, at the far back end of the trailer, is a 1966 Ford N Series truck with a Cummins diesel pulling a 1960 Fruehauf reefer with torsion suspension. In the center is a 1962 GMC “Crackerbox” (one of the first production trucks with an air-ride suspension). At the front end of the trailer’s side is a 1953 GMC 3-cylinder diesel pulling a 1950 Gramm single axle trailer. And on the nose of the trailer, not visible in the photo, is a 1919 Model TT Ford. George and Marie own and operate Schroyer, Inc., a trucking company that has been in business for more than 50 years. They both love their old trucks and enjoy showing them off at truck shows.
