KID'S PAGE - MARCH 2004
DEAR 10-4 MAGAZINE,
My name is Jacob Blackford and I am a 10 year old boy in the 4th grade at Beale
Air Force Base near Marysville, California where I live. I am a Kenworth truck
nut and know more about Kenworth trucks and cattle trailers than most people
three times my age. I have looked at and read almost every issue of 10-4 Magazine
that’s come out. My favorite issue so far was “Full of Bull” (April 2003) because
my dad buys his trailers from Wagner Transportation in Twin Falls, Idaho, where
my uncle Rod Archibald also hauls cattle. I attended the International Truck
Show in Las Vegas and plan to go again next year. My dad has been hauling cattle
on the west coast since 1982 and I have been riding with him since I was baby
(as you can see by my picture in the green truck my dad had).
Enclosed is a picture of my dads cool 1979
extended hood Kenworth and Wilson livestock trailer. Also enclosed is a picture
of my one of a kind, hand carved, oak Kenworth W-900L and Wilson trailer that
my uncle Jim made for me. I ride with my dad on weekends and help him clean
out the cattle trailer and have been known to drive on private ranch roads from
time to time. When I am not trucking, I enjoy riding my dirt bike, playing baseball,
and playing with my Play Station II. I hope this makes the Kid’s Page.
THANK YOU,
JACOB BLACKFORD
