Do you watch the commercials on television or read the ads on the Internet and in magazines concerning your life and how much better it could be with a partner – especially around Valentine’s Day? They would lead you to believe that if you spend your hard-earned money on candy, flowers and jewelry that your significant other will love you even more. No pressure there! But wait. Hold the phone, we are talking about advertising – believe it when they say that the ads are what shape opinions. If you do not have someone in your life, you may have memberships in the various dating websites on the net. According to the sites, if you are single, you are missing out on life, and the person of your dreams is just a key stroke away. Yes, that does work for some, but most people are in love with the “idea” of being in love. You must admit, in the beginning, everything is perfect, and then when the rose-colored glasses come off, you wonder what you ever saw in that person. So, here you are without a life partner. Most would say relationships are hard when you are a trucker, and they are right. There are partners that do share the road and enjoy every minute, but not all. So, it would seem that your life is hopeless because on Valentine’s Day you have no one to share it with or who cares? You are wrong, so very wrong. Yes, it is a hard and lonely career, but you are never alone. There is One that gives you unconditional love. He watches over you and cares for you. To Him, you are worth more than all the diamonds, silver and gold in the world. You will never get a Valentine Card from Him, but you will always know that His love surrounds you. Many may scoff, but it is true – you are loved, and no one can take that away from you except you. When you check out the web next time, search out the Living Bible and start to read the first chapter from the Book of John. For some, those words might really begin to speak to you. Be brave and check it out. His love is expressed in so many ways in the Bible. My Valentine wish is to share with you some endearing verses from the Book of Numbers, Chapter 6, Verses 24-26: “May the Lord bless and protect you; may the Lord’s face radiate with joy because of you; may he be gracious to you, show you his favor, and give you his peace.”
