I recently got this cool shot of “DYIN’ BREED” while humming along on I-80. Not long after that, I saw this comment online posted by a retired cowboy known as C.D. Beverage and I thought it went perfectly with this picture: “We would fly by like a flash of lightning with six hundred horses roaring, the two stick against the dash, and the trailer swaying. We called it rocking and rolling, but the lawman called us damned fools (they were just jealous because their rides weren’t as cool). What we knew wasn’t taught in school, cattle was our load and our truck was our tool. It took years to get it right, and we could still be safe roaring all night. But now they are taking good drivers off the road for spite, and putting people driving that will never get it right. They are paying with all they use and eat, but you know they haven’t learned their beat!”

Thank you Art for this great picture. My husband was very surprised to see our truck in 4-10. Its a great shot and honor. Thanks Tracy Johnmeyer
Nothing like the smell of cow —- and diesel fuel. I love it
Tracy, it’s opposite to what you guys think – your husband thru this picture helped one of the readers decide to buy KW K100 truck and become owner operator after being a driver at least 10 years. That’s when we at 10-4 are proud to feel be somewhat useful… Thank You guys! Your truck is absolutely awesome piece of machinery! She got soul!
The best running truck I ever drove was an old IH 9670 with a Cummins Big Cam and 9 speed back in 1990. The regular driver knew the mechanic at the leasing company’s shop and got him to ‘fiddle’ with the pump just a bit. Drop a gear, and we would pull that mountain outside Jellico in the left lane grossed out and rollin’ smoke! Last year, my assigned truck was a IH 9400 with an ISX, and while it ran OK, it just didn’t have the guts of that old Big Cam!
Sorry to say RETIRED now But TRUCKING is and will always be in my HEART I miss being with all my family on the ROAD Love You ALL KEEP ON TRUCKING Bless you ALL…….
