Driving across Wyoming, my camera recently caught Kyle Henning (24) waving me the “peace” sign as I passed on the other side of the highway. Kyle is a good example of the new era coming to American Trucking – the next generation of real truckers who are in their 20’s and being taught by the veterans. This new generation is heavily into social media, which ties them together, like the CB radio did decades ago. By learning from the old legends and staying connected to their peers through social networking, this group of dedicated youngsters is growing every day. Hopefully, there will be enough of them to turn trucking around and take it back to where it once was – a respectable, honorable, and prosperous profession.
