Operating your own truck and competing against the mega-fleets is like trying to keep a family grocery store open on the same block as a Walmart, but many owner-operators are still in the game. Case in point: this Phoenix trucker, who is still using an old Peterbilt from the 1960’s. Seen here climbing the “Grapevine” in California like a champ, one can only imagine the struggles this guy faces every day to keep this 50-year-old rig running well. You can buy the produce he hauls at your local Supercenter, but you can’t buy his skills to deliver them on-time. It takes guts to become an owner-operator, but it takes knowledge and talent to stay in the game for life!
